First off, thank you for choosing Integra. We’re honored to be the team you’ve trusted with your home’s electrical system. Whether it’s a panel relocation or a full-home rewire, we know this is a big deal, and we don’t take that lightly.
One of the most frustrating parts of any home project is feeling like you’re left in the dark. You want to know what’s happening, who’s coming into your space, and what to expect each step of the way. We get that, because we’ve heard it from homeowners time and time again.
At Integra, we’ve served thousands of families across Iowa, and one thing we’ve learned is that clear communication makes all the difference. That’s why we put together this quick guide: so you always know what’s happening and what comes next.
In this article, we'll walk you through:
- What to Know Before Your Installation Starts
- What to Expect While We're Working in Your Home
- What Happens After Your Electrical Installation is Done
- Staying in Touch with the Integra Team
Let's make this a smooth, stress-free experience together.
What to Know Before Your Installation Starts
Once your installation is scheduled, we’ll stay in close contact so you know exactly what to expect.
We’ll give you an estimated project timeline in advance, so you know how long the work should take from start to finish. If there’s anything you need to do before we arrive, like clearing a path to the electrical panel or attic access, we’ll let you know ahead of time so you’re not caught off guard.
The morning of your installation, you’ll receive a text with your arrival window and a quick intro to your technician and apprentice, complete with photos, so you know exactly who to expect at your door. Once your tech picks up parts for your job, they’ll give you a call with an exact ETA so you’re not left waiting around.
As soon as we arrive, we’ll do a full walkthrough of the job with you. This allows us to double-check all the details, answer any questions, and ensure we’re fully aligned before getting started.
From start to finish, our goal is to keep you informed and in the loop, so your project feels smooth, not stressful.
What to Expect While We're Working In Your Home
When we’re working in your home, we treat it with care and respect—just like we would our own.
You’ll see our team wearing boot covers, laying down drop cloths when needed, and keeping our work areas as clean and organized as possible. Our goal is to protect your space and minimize the mess as much as we can.
Your lead technician will give you daily updates to keep you in the loop, and our office will call in each day to check on how things are going, for both you and the tech.
For larger projects, you may experience some temporary disruptions. That can include power shutoffs, small sections of drywall being opened up, or extra activity around the house. We’ll always let you know ahead of time so you’re not surprised. And if the power does need to be off for an extended period, we can provide a generator to keep your day running smoothly while we get the work done.
From start to finish, our focus is on cleanliness, safety, and professionalism. We want you to feel confident in both the work being done and the people doing it.
What Happens After Your Electrical Installation Is Done
Once the work is complete, we’ll walk through everything with you one last time.
Your lead tech will do a final walkthrough and system testing to make sure everything is working exactly as it should. We’ll go over the work completed, answer any questions you have, and make sure you feel good about the results.
If your project includes a panel or meter change, generator install, or any work that requires a power shutoff, we’ll also coordinate any required inspections with the city or utility provider. In some cities like Des Moines, there are two inspections—one right after the work and a second “final” inspection. Our office will do everything we can to schedule those as quickly as possible, usually within a few days of the job.
Once we’re done, we’ll leave the worksite clean and tidy. If any drywall was opened, your technician will let you know and leave recommendations for patching or repair, so you know exactly what to do next.
For most projects, we collect 50% of the payment at the time of sale, and the remaining 50% is due the day your job is completed. If you're financing through GoodLeap, the full amount is applied once the work is complete. If you ever want to explore the ways to pay for a project like this, we have options available, including payment plans through trusted partners.
And before we head out, your tech will ask if you’d be willing to leave a review. We love hearing your feedback, and it helps other homeowners know they’re in good hands, too.
Staying in Touch with the Integra Team
Even after the job is done, we’re still here for you.
If you have questions, notice anything unexpected, or just want to follow up, you can always Reach Out to our Integra office team. We’re happy to help.
We also stand behind the work we do. All of our installations come with warranties that cover labor and workmanship, as well as the manufacturer’s warranties on parts and materials. You’ll receive written details with your invoice so you know exactly what’s covered and for how long.
If at any point something feels unclear or unexpected, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d much rather over-communicate than leave you guessing. Whether it’s a week after the install or a year down the road, we want you to feel confident that you’ve got a team you can count on.
