What do you expect on the phone?

Hi there! I’m Jaime Carpenter. I’m one of the owners here at Integra Electrical.

I’m always keeping my eyes and ears open for great customer service stories whether they are bad or good. I can learn a lot about what not to do and what to do from other businesses.

I’d like to tell you about an experience I had last week. My eight-year-old daughter was begging me and begging me to register her for camp. I finally got a chance to sit down and register her online. I was having a bit of a problem with the online form. It wasn’t processing so I decided to give the company a call.

This was the response I got when I picked up the phone, dialed and they answered….

(distant and monotone voice) Hello? Yah, I think we can do that.

I was just so disappointed because what I really wanted to hear was someone who was enthusiastic and eager to help me. Although I did get my problem resolved, albeit not the way I had hoped. It made me so thankful and so proud of the team here in the office. They are such gems when it comes to listening to customers and treating each customer that calls in like they are the only one for the whole day.

I think that when you call in you’ll notice the same thing. If you get a chance, tell them. It would really make their day!
